The Melbourne Cup remains an option for the King’s Desert Hero after his third in the St Leger at Doncaster on Saturday.

Desert Hero was easy to back at 7/1 but the ease in the betting proved no issue for William Haggas’ runner, who always looked to be travelling smartly in behind horses.

Hamilton hosts a small but select card on Friday, featuring the Listed Glasgow Stakes for three-year-olds and the Scottish Stewards’ Cup Handicap.
