Winning Trainer: Kris Lees
On the win: "Great thrill. Great to win with Dylan and a really good bunch of owners. At 7.29am he hadn't gained a start and he was just about to have a gallop. Was going to prepare for a race next Saturday."
"The phone call came through being third emergency and he had to overcome a wide gate. Early in the run I thought he was going to be posted but he got him in three deep with cover. It was a lovely ride, presented him at the right time and was able to get there on the line. It was really pleasing to see."
On the lead up: "He was really good the other day in The Gong. Again from a bad gate he was posted with a similar run but no cover and it took its toll late but it seasoned him for today."
On the horse: "He's been a really good horse. He got run down in the Provincial Final earlier in the year. He's a really good Randwick horse. Really pleasing to see."
Winning Jockey: Dylan Gibbons
On the win: "The only concern from out there was if I'd get the cover. We had a bit of a crack and went forward. Thankfully I was able to jag a spot, three wide with cover. He's an absolute warrior this horse. He's slowly progressed through his grades, he's always had a lot of ability but never had the luck. For him to win today and reward everyone it's great."
On winning for Kris: "It's always great to reward the boss. Just keep reminding him why I'm here. It means a lot. He's looked after me since day one. Along with many others I wouldn't be here today without blokes like him so to pay him back on a day like today means a lot."
Beaten Jockeys:
Nash Rawiller (Cepheus): "Never really comfortable in the race."
Jason Collett (Detonator Jack): "He worked home good. Was cluttered up and didn't have the room when he needed the room to get going."
Thomas Stockdale (King Magnus): "Got into a beautiful position on the back of the winner early. Just way too firm for him. He struggled to travel on that ground."
Adam Hyeronimus (Vilana): "Not too bad. A fraction disappointing when I let him go."
Chad Schofield (New Mandate): "Went back from the gate. Worked home steadily. Probably wants more give in the ground."
Tim Clark (Osipenko): "Didn't have too many breaks from that draw. He kept trying to the line."
Lee Magorrian (No Compromise): "He went as well as he can go. He's obviously a 2000m horse. Was only a length behind Detonator Jack winner of the Gong last week. Shows how well he is going."
Sam Clipperton (Rustic Steel): "He hasn't run a bad race. Just would have probably liked to see a bit more from him particularly the last furlong."
Andrew Adkins (Surf Dancer): "Had a lovely run. Very disappointing."
Josh Parr (Kirwan's Lane): "Great run. Just wasn't able to take up that more forward position earlier than I wanted. It caused a bit of a traffic jam for us."
Darragh Keenan (Dark Destroyer): "Ran well. Probably a bit further back than I wanted to be. Pulled up really strong. When he steps up in trip and might want a dig in the ground he'll go close."
Zac Lloyd (Hinged): "She has run really well. It was a messy first furlong. I think if she got a nice run she might have been in the finish."
Tyler Schiller (Charterhouse): "I thought he was really good. He made up a bit of ground in restricted room. Nice effort from the back."
Rachel King (Communist): "He was disappointing today. He is just not letting down."
Reece Jones (Phearson): "The week back up probably took the edge off him. Plenty turning for him but didn't finish off."
Tommy Berry (Waterford): "Would have liked to have been a couple of pairs closer. He's run well but is better when he gets to the outside. He still had room but was restricted room down the straight."
Tom Sherry (Lion's Roar): "Terrific run. We had a lot of favours and we travelled well. Tried hard."
Kerrin McEvoy (Age Of Kings): "He just needs to acclimatise."
