Sheraco Stakes

The Sheraco Stakes is a Group 2 race run under Set Weights and Penalty conditions for fillies and mares usually at Rosehill conducted by the Australian Turf Club.

The Sheraco Stakes is run over 1200m. It was first run in 1998 and was won by Patou.

The Sheraco Stakes was run over 1100m until 2012 then run over 1200m.

The Sheraco Stakes became a Listed from 2000 to 2012 and then a Group 3 until 2018 when it was upgraded to Group 2.

It is named after the 1982 ATC Australian Oaks winner.

The Sheraco Stakes was worth $300,000 in 2023.

The 2007 race was delayed due to the Equine Influenza break out and in 2021 when it was forced to be moved to Kembla Grange due to geographic coronavirus protocols.

Many of the recent winners have either been G1 winners or G1 quality mares.

Haut Brion Her would end up running in the Everest two runs after winning here in 2020.

In 2018 Invincibella won from her stablemate Noire. She would finish the season winning several races including the G1 Tatts Tiara.

Kiwi mare Entriviere made it six wins from eight starts in winning at Kembla in 2021.

The 2023 Sheraco Stakes was won by Sunshine In Paris from Espiona and Zapateo.
