The Cheveley Park Stakes is a Group 1 race run under Set Weight conditions for two year old fillies at Newmarket conducted by the Jockey Club.

The Cheveley Park Stakes is run over six furlongs. It was first run in 1899 and was won by Lutetia.

It is the first of the juvenile Group 1s of the season along with the Middle Park Stakes for the colts on the same day.

Run down the Rowley Mile straight course on the last day of the Cambridgeshire meeting, it is named after the estate under that name which is also a famous stud.

Best of the recent winners was probably the dual Guineas winning French filly Special Duty but the best overall would be the great Pretty Polly who was a Triple Crown winner plus numerous open class wins as an older mare.

Alcohol Free would win the Coronation Stakes the year after her Cheveley Park win.

Leading trainers are Alec Taylor, Criquette Head-Maarek and Aidan O'Brien with four victories. Most wins as a jockey is by Sir Gordon Richards with nine.

Aidan O'Brien has in fact taken 4 of the last 8 editions.

The Cheveley Park Stakes was worth £275,000 in 2023.
