The Juddmonte International Stakes is a Group 1 race run under Weight For Age conditions for the open class horses at York conducted by the York Racecourse.

The Juddmonte International Stakes is run over the mile and a quarter. It was first run in 1972 and was won by Roberto.

The race was conceived by the Clerk of the Course and the first running saw the only defeat of the champion Brigadier Gerard.

It is for three year olds and up and since inception 17 have won it.

The Juddmonte International Stakes is run on the opening day of the Ebor Festival at York. The 2008 edition was run at Newmarket.

Three horses have multiple wins – Dahlia, Ezzoud and Halling.

In his second last appearance and his first attempt beyond a mile, Frankel produced one of his best ever efforts in thrashing some hardened warriors by seven lengths in 2012.

Arabian Queen caused a huge boilover at 50-1 in the first defeat of the Derby winner Golden Horn in 2015.

Frankie Dettori broke the record for most wins in his farewell ride with his sixth victory. Sir Michael Stoute and Aidan O'Brien each have won the race six times.

Baaeed produced one of the biggest Timeform ratings in history in bolting away with the 2022 edition at his first start beyond a mile.
