Outcast Girl for Hawkesbury glory
The penultimate race at Hawkesbury is an interesting Class 1 handicap over 1600m.
A soft 5 track is expected for the 11-runner affair, with Watch My Girl expected to have her supporters following two good placed efforts this prep.
The filly confirmed she appreciates a wet track when a good third over 1200m in a Benchmark 64 handicap at Gosford first up.
While beaten less than a length that day, she showed improvement when narrowly beaten in finishing runner-up over 1300m at Kembla Grange seventeen days later.
Christian Reith's mount has run well over 1500m in the past, however, she has to prove her stamina stepping up to this distance for the first time.
Barrier 10 shouldn't pose any issues for OUTCAST GIRL who is a confirmed hold up performer and is selected to record her second career win.
The three-year-old resumed with a good third, beaten less than two lengths in a 1300m maiden at Hawkesbury last month.
The selection performed best of those to race from off the pace when encountering a soft 6 track on that occasion.
The daughter of Pariah went on to justify odds-on favouritism, when breaking her maiden on a soft 7 surface at Newcastle earlier this month.
The pick came home over a length clear of her nearest pursuer when contesting a 1350m event on that occasion and she is taken to follow up stepping up in distance.
Tommy to triumph at Pakenham
The seventh race at Pakenham is a 1600m Benchmark 64 handicap expected to take place on a soft 7 surface.
The Devil In Her is a three-time winner including when winning at metro level on the Hillside track at Sandown back in January.
The filly came home over three lengths clear in a six runner Benchmark 64 handicap event on a good surface.
The four-year-old followed that up with a third in a small field Benchmark 70 event on the Lakeside track back at Sandown.
A wide barrier isn't ideal here however, with TURN IT UP TOMMY the selection to record his second win this prep.
The gelding registered a fair effort when eighth in a 1412m Benchmark 0-64 handicap at Geelong on 24th April.
The pick was beaten just under three-and-a-half-lengths that day and took a marked step forward when racing at the same venue earlier this month.
The New Zealand-bred runner came home one-and-a-half-lengths clear of her 13 rivals when taking out a Benchmark 58 handicap that day.
While the selection has yet to salute on going described as soft, he has won twice on good going and twice on heavy and is a versatile type with regard to going.
Dakotah Keane, on board for both of those Geelong efforts, is again set to ride here and the pair look capable of saluting from barrier three.
Atom to salute at Tatura
Ben Brisbourne is set to saddle CRAZY ATOM in the sixth race of the day at Tatura.
The race in question is a 1600m Benchmark 58 handicap due to be held on a soft 5 surface.
The selection placed on a heavy 8 track when runner-up in a Class 1 set weights event at Wagga Riverside last month.
The four-year-old has recorded big efforts in both subsequent outings including when taking out a 1600m Class 1 set weights event at Albury on 10th May.
The filly came home over one-and-a-half-lengths clear having finished strongly from off the pace when racing on a good 4 track on that occasion.
Alana Kelly takes the ride here and she looks capable of steering the daughter of Atomic to her second victory this prep.
