Irish for Ipswich glory

At Ipswich the concluding race on their nine-race program is a 2180m Benchmark 72 handicap, a heat of the Winter Provincial Stayers series.

Shezadandi has the services of Kyle Wilson-Taylor and has won twice at this venue so far in 2024.

Both of those victories have come over 2150m, including by half-a-length in a similar race to this, a Benchmark 72 handicap earlier this month.

The six-year-old is a fairly versatile type with regard to tactics and that should prove helpful, given she will jump from barrier 11 here.

Trained by Jason Patton, the wet track should prove no issue here, having placed third on a soft 5 track when contesting a 2400m event at Eagle Farm on her penultimate start.

The Irish steps out of maiden company for the first time in this one and he is selected racing off a low weight.

The four-year-old demonstrated plenty of ability in placing in three of his first four starts, including when runner-up in a 1600m maiden at Sunshine Coast last month.

The pick had been freshened prior to that effort and he went on to record his first win when taking a 2150m maiden on a soft 5 surface here on 11th May.

The selection came home nearly five lengths clear of his rivals that day and he is another who is fairly versatile with regard to tactics.

Lee Freedman saddles the gelding and, with the distance and forecast underroof conditions in his favour, he is selected to complete a double.

Accredited to triumph at Warwick Farm

A soft 7 track is expected at Warwick Farm with the penultimate contest an 1100m Benchmark 72 handicap event.

James Cummings saddles Fleetwood here, with the three-year-old expected to have his supporters on his first start since a seventh at Gosford in December.

The gelding failed to shine in an eight runner 1200m Listed contest that day having won over the same distance at Rosehill two starts earlier.

James McDonald's mount has an inside barrier here and is proven on wet tracks.

However, preference on this occasion is for Accredited, who has won both starts when racing first up.

The second of those first up efforts saw the gelding salute in an 1100m Benchmark 64 handicap at this venue in November.

While the four-year-old suffered defeats at Randwick on his next two starts, he returned to the winners enclosure back at this track when winning over 1200m in January.

The selection came home half-a-length clear of his rivals when contesting a Benchmark 72 handicap on a sound surface that day.

The son of All Too Hard has placed on a wet track in the past and Rory Hutchings' mount looks capable of resuming with a win.

Corrupted for Bendigo success

Anthony & Sam Freedman are set to saddle Corrupted in the fifth race at Bendigo, an 1100m Benchmark 64 handicap event.

The three-year-old demonstrated good form on a sound surface earlier this season, including when fourth over 1400m at Sale in December.

The filly was beaten just over one-and-a-half-lengths on that day and she was spelled by connections following that effort.

The daughter of Hellbent resumed with a narrow margin success, when jumping at odds of $1.40 for a 1000m maiden at Werribee earlier this month.

The selection race on a wet track for the first time that day and she is set to return to a forecast good 4 surface for this event.

Luke Currie takes the ride for the first time and jumping from an inside alley, his mount looks capable of recording her second career success.
