Gold Coast Titans are showing signs of improvement and will be targeting back-to-back wins when they face Newcastle Knights.

The Titans have won two of the last three games and will be a tough test for the Knights, although they do have key players missing.

Newcastle are priced at 3.50 to make the eight and play finals this season, and after winning the last three games on the bounce, they are heading in the right direction.

Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs and Cowboys will also go head-to-head on a bumper day of Magic Round action.

South Sydney are expected to announce the return of coach Wayne Bennett for next season, but they have work to do before then.

They sit bottom of the ladder with just one win and are 2.60 to suffer most losses this season.

Titans on a roll

. What: Gold Coast Titans v Newcastle Knights
. Where: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
. When: 15:00 (AEST), Saturday 18th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Gold Coast Titans 2.80, Newcastle Knights 1.44

The Titans have lost just one game in the last three, and that was a narrow two-point loss against the mighty Melbourne Storm.

Their two wins were also tight, beating the Warriors by three points and the Cowboys by four, but they would take the same against Newcastle.

Des Hasler's men can be backed at 7.50 to win by 1-5 points.

However they will have to do it without influential trio AJ Brimson, Kieran Foran and Phillip Sami, who are all missing through injury.

Newcastle are also going well when winning their last three games on the bounce, proving they can cope without the injured Kalyn Ponga.

They have also won three of the last four games against the Titans.

Winger Enari Tuala will make his 100th NRL appearance and is 7.50 to celebrate it with the first try of the game.

Johnston boost for bunnies

. What: South Sydney Rabbitohs v North Queensland Cowboys
. Where: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
. When: 19:45 (AEST), Saturday 18th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
. Odds: South Sydney Rabbitohs 3.25, North Queensland Cowboys 1.35

South Sydney are in need of a lift, and the news that star winger Alex Johnston could return from injury, will give them one.

Johnston has recovered from a hamstring injury and is 2.00 to grab a try at anytime on his return.

Souths have won all four of their Magic Round games, but they are rock bottom at the moment and have work to do to make it five.

But they have a chance against a Cowboys side that is also on the slide having lost the last five games on the bounce.

The Cowboys would take any kind of win and are priced at 3.25 to win by 1-12 points.
