The Hurricanes suffered their first defeat of the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific campaign against the Brumbies last time out and the Waratahs will have to be wary of a response when they head to Wellington on Friday.
After a 38-22 defeat to the Chiefs in Sydney in Round 10, the Waratahs face more Kiwi opposition this week but this time away from the home comforts of Allianz Stadium.
The Hurricanes will be looking to get back in the saddle at the first time of asking and the Tahs will need to put in their performance of the season to get a result at Sky Stadium.

Waratahs still seeking answers
With just one win in their first seven outings in the Super Rugby Pacific this season, the Tahs are still looking for the formula that can deliver much-needed wins.
The answers might not be as far away as their form suggests, with five of the Waratahs' seven games this season being decided by margins of no greater than six points.
While that will give head coach Darren Coleman and his players hope, it will also come as a source of frustration that they have not been able to get over the line in the last 10 minutes of games.
Friday's game poses the Tahs' biggest challenge of the season to date, against a Hurricanes side that have blown away some strong teams this year.
The Waratahs are 8.50 to cause a major shock and come away from Wellington with the victory, while the Sydney outfit are 1.91 with +20.5 in the Line market.
Frustrated Hurricanes out to send a message
After seeing their perfect winning record spoilt against the Brumbies last time out in Canberra, the Hurricanes will be determined to show the defeat in the Australian capital was just a blip.
The Brumbies have been solid this season and certainly there was no shame in losing at GIO Stadium last time out.
However, a response will be demanded by head coach Clark Laidlaw to make sure this side's form does not unravel over the coming weeks.
Friday offers up a good opportunity to get back to winning ways, in what is expected to be a one-sided affair considering the Line market.
Jordie Barrett is a man in great form for the Canes, having scored four tries in his last five Super Rugby Pacific games.
Despite being named on the bench, the All Blacks star is certainly with considering at 1.83 in the anytime tryscorer market on Friday night.
