Fawkner for Gold Cup glory
The penultimate race on the card is the Listed Wagga Wagga Gold Cup over 2000m.
Renaissance Woman is expected to have her supporters for the Bjorn Baker team having performed with credit in Group company this prep.
Those efforts include a good third in the Group 3 James Squire Neville Sellwood Stakes, on a good 4 track at Rosehill three starts back.
While outclassed in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf subsequently, she showed better form when fifth back at Group 3 level in the JRA Plate at Randwick on 20th April.
The drop in grade is a positive here, however, preference is for last time out winner FAWKNER PARK.
Annabel Neasham's gelding recorded fourth-place finishes in his first two starts this prep, including in the Australian Cup Prelude at Flemington in March.
The five-year-old was beaten over three lengths when racing over 1800m on a good 4 track in that event.
The son of Zoffany returned to the winners' enclosure when stepped up to this distance to the Listed Albury Gold Cup on 22nd March.
The gelding has been freshened since that effort and arrives here on the back of a seventh in a 1200m barrier trial at Warwick Farm recently.
Tyler Schiller, on board at Albury, is again set to ride here and he looks capable of completing a double.
Agnodice for Muswellbrook success
The seventh race of the day at Muswellbrook is a 1450m Benchmark 74 handicap for fillies and mares.
Paul Messara & Leah Gavranich send out Gentilleschi here, with the filly having shown good form in winning both starts since returning from a spell.
The first of those victories saw her salute by over two lengths in a 1300m maiden at Scone in March.
The three-year-old raced on a soft 7 track, with the filly encountering quicker conditions when justifying odds-on favouritism at the same venue on 16th April.
While the form of that Benchmark 58 handicap is working out well, she steps up in grade here and the year old AGNODICE is the selection in this event.
The filly broke her maiden on a heavy 10 track at Tamworth in July last year and she recorded her second career success at Moree at the start of last month.
The pick came home over two-lengths clear of her rivals when contesting a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1300m on a good 4 track that day.
The daughter of Street Boss duly followed up when taking out a Class 2 handicap over 1400m on a soft 5 surface at Armidale just under two weeks later.
Cody Morgan has his team in good form at present and his representative is taken to complete her hat-trick.
Sipper to score at Echuca
Linda Meech rides SPANGLED SIPPER in the fifth race on the card at Echuca, with the veteran hoop's mount having shown good placed form this prep.
Those placed efforts include a second in a 1600m Class 1 handicap at Moonee Valley at the start of February, while the three-year-old failed to shine at Morphettville in the Listed Clare Lindop Stakes in March.
The drop in grade suited when Andrew Bobbin's filly lost out by less than half-a-length in an 1856m Benchmark 58 handicap at Kyneton on 11th April.
A number of those in behind that day have placed subsequently and she looks capable of going one better in this event.
