Not many would have predicted the Sharks to be sitting second on the ladder at this stage of the season and they can be backed at 7.00 to win the 2024 grand final.

There is still a long way to go and for now Craig Fitzgibbon's side will just be focused on finishing as high up the ladder as possible.

The same can be said of the Dolphins, who have had another great start to the season.

However, unlike their debut season in 2023, they have yet to fade away and are sitting pretty in fourth spot on the ladder.

They can be backed at 15.00 to reach the grand final in coach Wayne Bennett's final season at the club before he leaves to rejoin South Sydney Rabbitohs.

With Bennett at the helm, nothing can be dismissed.

Sharks back on track

After a couple of tough weeks the Sharks bounced back to winning ways as they picked up a massive win against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium in Round 14.

Following a 42-0 loss to the Panthers and a shock defeat against Parramatta Eels the week after, questions were being asked regards Cronulla's premiership credentials.

However they answered the critics in perfect fashion with a 22-12 win in Brisbane, to keep them in second spot on the ladder.

Now they need to back it up with another two points against the Dolphins on Thursday night, but it will be far from easy.

The Dolphins won by 20 points in this same fixture in 2023 and are going well this season.

Even so the Sharks will back themselves to get the job done and are priced at 2.20 to win by 13+ points.

Sione Katoa grabbed his ninth try of the season in the Broncos win and is sure to be a big threat, along with Ronaldo Mulitalo, who also has nine for the campaign.

Dolphins refreshed and ready

The Dolphins will be itching to get back in action following the bye in Round 14.

They slipped to an agonising one-point home defeat against Canberra Raiders in the game before the break, and no doubt would have preferred to go again.

But they will have had time to rest up and reflect on the season so far, and should come out firing in Cronulla.

They have happy memories from their visit last season and can be backed at 4.50 to win by 1-12 points.

Bennett's side have won seven games this season and three of those have been on the road.

Although just one of the wins has been outside of Queensland, when they beat the Wests Tigers by 12 points last month.

Jack Bostock got the opening try in that game and has 10 for the season so far. The winger is one of the surprises of the season so far and will be out to keep his good form going.
