Friday night racing at Launceston.

Race 1: Off The Track Tasmania Mdn Plate @ 6:00pm - 1400m

Miss Tanzanite (11) spiked her figures placing this track/distance. She will push forward and can go one better. GEEGEEHAILSTORM (13) has missed a whisker here at both outings this preparation and is ready for the longer sprint. She's much improved and fitter will go close. CAPTAIN CAM (1) was plainer in the same contest but just missed prior and may improve at 1400m. In the mix. BUEL (15) showed plenty early doors but has been down on form. Gets the winkers again and has been freshened. He's likely to show more at a price.

Race 2: Ladbrokes Odds Surge Hcp (C1) @ 6:30pm - 1200m

Thespian Waters (1) raced well in the Listed Tasmanian Guineas and then came back to this distance and was beaten 1L as an equal favourite in an Open 3. He has the handy claim in easier grade and finds a very winnable assignment. MANDATE (5) draws awkwardly but brings a deserved Maiden win and the 3kg claim is handy. Fitter again and has scope for further improvement. A quinella hope along with MISS KEEDS (12) who was a big winner at Hobart three back this grade and she was only beaten 1.4L here the latest. It would be a surprise if any of the others lifted to win.

Race 3: Tasracing Mdn Plate @ 7:00pm - 1100m

Tigers On Top (9) resumes and missed a nose at Hobart on debut. Was close up here after and was immediately spelled. Will be naturally improved and has the benefit of a 2kg claim. Should go close. BLOOMTIME (7) missed a whisker here second-up and can build on that. Draws inside and that advantages. DURAZZO (1) was heavily backed here on debut off three trial wins and was cruelled by the wide barrier. Has the paint today and a 2kg claimer goes on. Supporters will certainly be giving him another chance. PIPING WILLOW (3) debuts and has trialled well. He has to be kept safe.

Race 4: Good Friday Easter Family Fun Day Mdn Plate @ 7:30pm - 1100m

Tough Impact (2) resumed here and was close-up. Brought two trial wins but was expected to need the outing. Has an inside gate today and keeps a 2kg claim. He's on the quick back-up and fitter this is winnable. SHALL WE PLAY (4) switched from a NSW yard and looked in need of the run. She has a 3kg claim today and draws a lot better. Has plenty up her sleeve and quick improvement is likely. RIDE THE MOON (7) made good improvement at Hobart beaten just 2L. The odds will be a lot shorter today and she can't be ruled out. GEE GEE TYCOON (6) has laid a nice foundation for this with two solid efforts at the track and has more to give. On a 7-day return and is also a hope.

Race 5: It's Why We Race Hcp @ 8:00pm - 1200m

Numerous chances on paper. Jaguar Stone (5) keeps putting in and has threatened in Group 3 company her last two. Brings the best figures and is well-placed with the 2kg claim. Deserves a win and gets another chance. KALIUWAA FALLS (4) is a Victorian who won three in a row in Tasmania before being transferred to the Imogen Miller yard. Is back after 26 days and tumbles in weight in this grade. Kersley stays aboard and will give him every chance from an inside barrier. BELLO BEAU (1) tackled Listed grade off the Open win here and then came back beaten 2L in the Royal Rambo. He can make the finish again. GALENUS (3) has been knocking on the door in decent races and has a handy 2kg claim. Races forward and also deserves consideration.

Race 6: Tasbred Race Night 5Th April (Bm68) @ 8:30pm - 1200m

Seydoux (4) led and won the 64 this track/trip in a return to her best. Will use the rail and will present at peak fitness. She can repeat the dose. BOLD INSTINCT (7) resumed with a near miss on the synthetic and then came here and delivered a big win at 62 level. He races forward and with the extra fitness will go close. RUBBLEONTHEDOUBLE (6) followed the win with a near miss at Hobart in a 68 and then led over the mile here in an Open 4 beaten less than 1L. Drops back to a sprint but is an improving galloper with claims. PHOENIX GLOBAL (5) has switched from a Victorian barn on a 26 day return. Would win this at best and should be ready to show more.

Race 7: Kevin Sharkie Tasmanian St Leger @ 9:00pm - 2400m

Competitive. Travelling Gigolo (2) peaks now and will find this more suitable than the Hobart Cup over the same distance. The 42-day freshen is a slight niggle but he's good enough and gets his chance. ASSARANCA (3) found the Launceston Cup a bit of a stretch but is also better suited in this line-up. Rates similarly to the above and should be hitting the line hard. GEEGEES HISWORD (4) improved again winning the 76 here as expected over 2150m. Has a handy gate and will get every chance at his first go over a staying trip. PENNINE (5) brings back-to-back wins in easier grade. Gives every indication the extra metres will suit and he has more upside than most of these.

Race 8: Ladbrokes Sport Bar (Bm72) @ 9:30pm - 1400m

Stone Cold Stunner (2) won back-to-back here and then tackled the G3 Vamos Stakes over this distance when beaten just 2.4L. That reads well for this contest and she has a handy 2kg claim and can use the low gate. CABACA (3) comes out of the same race and didn't finish it off. She wasn't beaten far in the G3 Mystic Journey Stakes prior and racing at peak fitness is a decent chance. Stablemate VIVILICI (1) is also fourth up and was okay in the Royal Rambo after giving away a start. The 2kg claim is handy and she's also a hope. ZEWINNA (7) has been racing well without winning. This is harder but she will carry a feather with the 3kg claim and should be around the mark.
