THE STARS

SCOTT SINGLETON: Nothing like winning the biggest race of your career on your home track. Hawkesbury Guineas upset with Shazee Lee has capped his break out season.

TOMMY BERRY: Made Hawkesbury Cup day his own by riding three winners.

CHRIS WALLER: Also dominated the Hawkesbury program with three winners.

DWAYNE DUNN: His day at Caulfield with three fine winning rides.

MUSIC MAGNATE: Always good to see a class act come back a winner under difficult conditions.

STAR EXHIBIT: Perth Cup winner wins first up at 1400m for new trainer Darren Weir – who else!

TIFFANI BROOKER: Landed a double at Eagle Farm including her first stakes win with a desperate ride in the Gunsynd Classic. No wonder she is leading the apprentice’s premiership in Brisbane.

MICHAEL CAHILL: Two rides, two wins at Eagle Farm – a perfect day!

THEY SAID IT!

"My grandfather trained here. I can remember being around the bull ring over the back from the time I was about five.” – Hawkesbury Guineas winner Scott Singleton and his childhood memories of his home track..

"The way he went I thought he had his name written all over this race." – Hawkesbury Cup winner Gai Waterhouse reflects on last Monday’s trial win at Hawkesbury by Fabrizio

"I think a few horses who ran on that track today will know they have been in a race tomorrow.” - Jeff Lloyd on the Eagle Farm track.

"He's the real deal." - Darren Weir's stable foreman Jarrod McLean sums up Star Exhibit.

“You bring a boxer to a fight not a boy. What a show of guts. He was gone five times." - Dream Aplenty’s trainer John Zielke said.

"I couldn't believe it when they bet $61. I even tipped him as a top chance in a radio interview so it was no shock." – Chris Munce tells why we should have backed his upset winner Saint Patrick’s Day.

SIN BIN

SERENE BAY: Flop of the day at Hawkesbury.

BEN THOMPSON: He rode a double but it doesn’t excuse his ride on Overberg!! Somebody tell him you can’t sit three deep up the hill and win a 2000m race at Caulfield.

DOUBT I’M DREAMING: The dream became a nightmare when he lacked the spark of his debut win.

KENJORWOOD: Market seemed to know he would get an impossible ride.

RIDES OF THE DAY

TOMMY BERRY: In top form on all three winners but the best was Lanciato - timed it to perfection from last to first.

JASON COLLETT: Rated Fabrizio perfectly in front on a day when it was difficult to lead and win.

JAY FORD: Pulled one out of the hat on Shazee Lee in the Hawkesbury Guineas.

HUGH BOWMAN: Copy book on Felines.

HANNAH ENGLISH: It was only Dalby but her winning ride on Klammer was special.

TALKING POINTS

JOHN O’SHEA: Everybody in racing is asking why and how his partnership with Godolphin has ended so abruptly. Let’s leave it to the man himself to provide the answers.

EAGLE FARM: Seems the track repair job is still a long way from finished. The concern is how will it be by June when we get to the big races of the carnival – another disaster like last winter?

GAI WATERHOUSE: Seems Gai wasn’t too happy about being charged and fined over her trackwork substitutions at Randwick’s breakfast with the stars. Gai, all you had to do was tell officials before trying to fool everybody – why not? Afterall, rules are rules.

WHIP RULES: As mentioned last week, there is no rhyme or reason to the way the whip rules are applied by stewardsr. Take Tiffani's Brooker's wining ride on Dreams Aplenty at Eagle Farm - the count was 17 whip strikes before the 100m at not a word from rival jockey Larry Cassidy after he goes down in a photo. Brooker copped a $2000 fine and suspension but why no stewards protest? Another one for the too hard basket?

MONEY TALKS

GREAT GLEN: Opened at $4.40 early doors and firmed to $2.70 on the day off the back of several big bets

HE EKSCELS: They offered $34 early in the week and $26 was still available on Friday. He bottomed out at $7.50.

MR SNEAKY: Landed some of the biggest bets of the day. Backed from $2.50 to $2.15, responsible for 67 percent of the fixed odds market.

GREY STREET: Had all the right backing to turn the tables on Miss Vista

IN THE BAG

SERENA BAY: Commanded 75 percent of all bets on the race with TAB. Costly.

ICON OF DUBAI: The $4 to $3.10 move also went west in the same race. Bookies got the perfect split.

RUTHLESS AGENT: $4.40 to $3.50 saw him carry the lion's share of investments. Unlucky.

DAYSEE DOOM: Punters came hard for honest mare. Backed down from $4.60 to $2.60.

DOUBT I’M DREAMING: Backed from $1.70 to as low as $1.50. Had every opportunity.

NETHERFIELD: Biggest move of the day in Adelaide from $7.50 crunched to $3.50. Still trying to get a clear run.

BLACKBOOK

OVERBERG: Did it tough al the way. Probably wins with a softer run.

PALAZZO PUBBLICO: Will be suited against own sex when ridden with cover.

LIAPARI: Strong return. Set for a good campaign.

VANBRUGH: Setting up nicely for the Brisbane carnival.

WIDGEE TURF: Doing best work late. Good prospects in something longer.

BILLY THE KID: Tried hard under difficult conditions. Promising.
