Leading bookmaker bet365 are putting $50,000 on the line for any logged-in member who correctly selects the winners of six specified races across the Rosehill, Caulfield and Doomben meetings this weekend. There are also consolation prize pools of $10,000 to be split amongst those who tip five winners and $5,000 for those who 'only' pick four.
Last week they had four customers select five winners with each punter picking up $2,500 each.
The six featured races are outlined below with the R&S team providing pre-race previews to help you narrow it down.
Rosehill Race 7: James Squire Festival Stakes @ 4:00pm - 1500m
Group 3 placegetter Grebeni (17) is a progressive gelding who looks well in on the limit weight. Solid effort second-up when a long neck winner over 1400m at Goulburn on November 6. Has a good record on his home track and has plenty of improvement left. Multiple Group 1 placegetter Williamsburg (14) has raced without luck this time in and desperate for a rain affected rack. Total forgive at latest when 14th in the G2 Damien Oliver over 1400m at Flemington on November 4. His run two back was full of merit when sixth in the Silver Eagle. Sure to be strong late. Acquitted (15) excellent return when got out late from well back to finish second at Newcastle over 1300m on November 18. Goes just as well second-up and handles the going. Rustic Steel (2) third-up today and drops sharply in grade after finishing fifth in The Hunter over 1300m at Newcastle on November 18. Handles the going and looking for this trip now.
Caulfield Race 8: Whispering Angel Zipping Classic @ 4.20pm - 2400m
Muramasa (10) faces his toughest test to date but I'm confident he can measure up. He was impressive winning the G3 Queens Cup at Flemington and while he has to make the leap to weight-for-age, he's very progressive and will take plenty of beating again. Vow And Declare (1) sat close to a very strong tempo in the Melbourne Cup and his effort to run ninth was very good considering the leaders were beaten out of sight. He was flying prior and won this race last year. Impossible to knock. Huetor (2) wasn't beaten far in the G1 Champions Stakes last time out and certainly has the class to win this. Deny Knowledge (11) will be rolling along in front and if rated well she'll give them something to catch. Serpentine (6) can bounce back after dropping out in the Melbourne Cup.
Rosehill Race 8: Greenlife Starlight Stakes @ 4:40pm - 1100m
Group 3 placegetter Quick Tempo (3) has returned in good order this time in and on the quick back-up after rattling late from well back when second over 1000m at Kembla Grange last Saturday. Extra trip suits and appreciates the sting out of the ground. Conscript (6) is an underrated sprinter resuming. Has excellent fresh figures over this course and trip. Will get back from the wide gate and expected to swoop late. Group 2 placegetter Dragonstone (2) is another on the quick back-up after resuming with an encouraging fourth over 1000m at Kembla Grange last Saturday. Fitter now and likely to be getting home late. Group 3 placegetter Sneaky Paige (8) resumes today for the Brad Widdup yard. All four wins have come at this trip and loves the going. Fitter with two sound trial wins and gets every chance from the inside gate.
Rosehill Race 9: Christmas Cup @ 5.20pm - 2400m
Group 1 placegetter Sky Lab (1) is at his peak now and indicated a win was imminent after motoring late when third in the Beauford over 2300m at Newcastle on November 18. Gets through the going and will be hard to stop late. Group 1 winner Serpentine (2) has had a good prep prior to going out hard when a tiring 19th over 3200m in the G1 Melbourne Cup on November 7. Will go forward again and take plenty of catching. Group 1 placegetter Stockman (3) is a tough old customer who grows a leg on rain affected going. Pay to forget latest 13th in the Beauford over 2300m on November 18. Goes well this track and trip and drops in weight. Little Mix (9) is a smart Neasham-trained mare chasing a hat-trick. Carried the 60.5kg well when a dogged head winner over 2000m at Flemington on November 9. Distance won't be a problem and can win again.
Doomben Race 8: George Moore Stakes @ 5.28pm - 1200m
Nettuno (7) was too good when resuming from a lengthy spell last start, scoring by 2 lengths over 1000m at Sunshine Coast. Open to plenty of improvement and is drawn to get the favours so looms as the one to beat. Rothfire (1) is back at the races for the first time since September 29 when beaten 3.5L in a G1 at Moonee Valley. Has a strong first-up record with five wins and two placings from nine starts. Readied with a trial win and gets a soft run from this draw. Big chance. Zoustyle (4) will relish getting to a track where he has won six of seven attempts and boasts a 50 per cent strike rate at this distance so profiles well. All That Pizzazz (9) wasn't far away in the Keith Noud Quality last start and is a first four player off his Weetwood win two back.
Caulfield Race 10: Premier Signs Doveton Stakes @ 5.40pm - 1200m
This is wide open.Jigsaw (2) was scratched from Cranbourne last week as the track got wetter but looks well placed in this. Two runs back from a spell have been just even but he did run against Imperatriz last start at G1 level. Back in grade here and drawn well at a track he likes, he should give a sight. Ghaanati (8) ran a much-improved race last start behind Rose Quartz at this track and trip. Has a strong case off that. Lauda Sion (1) is intriguing. A former G1 winner in Japan, he's mixed his form of late and is now with Chris Waller. 1200m may be a touch sharp but anything like his best would go a long way to winning. Gravina (5) has just been fair in two runs back but can improve third up. Lombardo (3) may also be ready to show his best now.
