Lay bets are an offering unique to Betfair in Australia where punters can bet AGAINST a particular outcome.

THOROUGHBREDS

Muswellbrook: Race 4; #3 Super Story Down Arrow

Ran well last start and will be reaching peak fitness third-up however I can't get this horse as short as the current market with an apprentice jockey striking at just 4% his last 50 rides.

Gatton: Race 6; #9 Les Girls Down Arrow

I am happy to be against Les Girls at the current price. This is a harder race than last start and I am simply against the jockey's current strike rate of just 4% winners from his last 50 rides. The two main dangers in the race Big Sky Country and Top Bird, the jockeys are striking at 18% their last 50.

GREYHOUNDS

Sandown Park: Race 1; #2 George Jetson Down Arrow

George Jetson hasn't raced in a month so he may have had an issue. 515 metres after a month off at a venue he hasn't raced before is hardly ideal. He can make some mistakes in his races as well so there's enough negatives here to take him on.

Sandown Park: Race 10; #1 Back To Scratch Down Arrow

Back To Scratch is no longer with the Thompson kennel and that's an important thing to note here. He should be kept short enough on the Exchange with the prime draw to warrant a Lay bet but he makes too many mistakes for mine. Shake It Off should be exploding across but I just can't be betting off Box 8 as I've been burnt too many times but in this instance I'm still hoping she wins to make it a successful Lay of Back To Scratch.

Albion Park: Race 10; #8 Seven Sinners Down Arrow

Admittedly, I'm a big fan of this bitch; however, she appears tested in this contest. She has put two wins on the bounce at both Ipswich and Albion Park and now faces her toughest task to date. Despite having a faultless two from two record from box eight, I prefer her from low draws as she doesn't have that explosive speed to cross a full field. Add in her small stature of only 24kgs, she could very easily get caught in the cheap seats here and she's not the type to run over the top of them. Simply put, needs to lead to win and I don't have her mapped leading.

HARNESS

Ballarat: Race 6; #8 Terror Eyes Down Arrow

Terror Eyes has a few tricks & won ok last time. He had a charmed run in transit & this looks a lot harder so we'll be taking him on.
