ADELAIDE STRIKERS V PERTH SCORCHERS

Two days after battling it out in the west the Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers get to do it all again, this time at the Adelaide Oval on Friday night. It's all pretty clear where things are going wrong for the Strikers as at the time of publication they actually have the best run rate with the bat in the competition, scoring at more than nine runs an over, however that is well and truly being offset by their efforts in the field where they are conceding almost ten runs an over, highlighting just how much they are missing star import Rashid Khan. On the same metrics the Scorchers are similar at the crease, pushing nine runs an over, however with the ball they are simply in a league of their own, barely conceding a run a ball, although they will face a unique challenge on the short square boundaries of the Adelaide Oval.

Even if the Strikers were to cause a dramatic upset on Wednesday night, it is still anticipated that the defending champions would start jollies in this one, although Adelaide hasn't been their happiest hunting ground in recent times. One player who has no issues with this ground is Adelaide skipper Matt Short who since the start of BBL12 averages an obscene 58.75 and has top-scored in more than 50% of those games so it would rude not to back him to do so again here.
