CHALLENGER- BRISBANE HEAT VS ADELAIDE STRIKERS
The last spot in the BBL13 final is up for the grabs when the Brisbane Heat entertain the Adelaide Strikers at Carrara Stadium on Monday night. The Heat will need to take the scenic route to the title after they were outmuscled by the Sydney Sixers in Friday's Qualifier, going down by 39 runs after their undermanned batting unit was rolled for just 113 in response to Sydney's 8/152 which featured a vexing spell from left-arm quick Spencer Johnson (2/14 off four overs). They will now face a Strikers side which has won their last five games with a 50-run disposal of defending champions Perth Scorchers in the Knockout, their most impressive yet, and it came off the back of another sublime knock from talented left-hander Jake Weatherald (56 off 32 balls) before leg-spinning pair Lloyd Pope and Cameron Boyce combined for figures of 7/44 off 7.2 overs to twirl Adelaide to an unlikely victory.
Betting Strategy
The Heat are marginal favourites to qualify for their second straight final ahead of a Strikers side whose incredible run sees them on the verge of a first decider since BBL07. Both sides are fairly evenly matched in this one with skinny batting line-ups balanced out by bowling attacks which are well suited to the sluggish conditions at Carrara, conditions which are unlikely to produce free-flowing batting and hence we don't see too many balls disappearing over the ropes.
