RANDWICK MULTI

RACE 4 (9) LOVEPLANET: A typical up and comer from the Chris Waller stable hits Sydney in winning form after getting his grounding in Victoria where he has won three of his first four start up to 1600m. Resumed off a seven months break for a game win over 1400m at Sandown on July 14 and got his introduction to Sydney with a strong trial placing at Rosehill on July 30. Has a couple of stablemates among his rivals but gets the services of J Mac and maps to settle in the striking position behind an obvious leader.

RACE 6 (4) MORE PROPHETS: Quality mare flies when fresh – win and two placings from three first-up attempts - and is set for a bold return off an impressive trial effort. She's missed a place only twice in 11 career starts and the astute John Thompson has her well placed in this class against her own sex as I expect her to rise to Group company this season.

RACE 8 (4) REMARQUE: Imposing brother to Golden Slipper winner Esitjaab is set to lay down an early marker for the spring against a classy field in the Rosebud. He was the boom colt of last season after a super debut win but didn't go on after a luckless fifth in the G2 Todman Stakes where he was trapped wide without cover. Has shown excellent acceleration in two recent trial wins and expect his turn of foot will come into play if he sits on the back of the certain hot pace from the rails draw.

TRIAL POINTERS

WYONG August 2: Godolphin sent a small team to the trials with DESTINATION giving notice that he is ready to run to his best with a soft front running win his 845m heat (50.45; 33.66).

ROSEHILL July 30: The were some keen 2YO trials with pacy Queensland youngster MAOTAI recording a sharp win by more than five lengths in the quickest of the 11 heats over 900m (54.20; 33.72), an effort that suggests he will measure up to Sydney standard. REMARQUE also recorded fast time (54.27; 34.16) to run down a quick leader in his 900m heat. He was three lengths off the lead at the 150m but showed his class when given a rev up to quickly make up the leeway.

RANDWICK July 27: It was hard to get a line on KOLDING in his black type heat over 900m. Never tested to finish sixth, performing in similar fashion to his recent Rosehill trial where he went around casually without making any impression. Promising 3YOs IN THE CONGO and MAZU sprinted hard to the line together in their heat over 1045m with IN THE CONGO (62.57; 34.46) getting the upper hand narrowly on the line.

WARWICK FARM July 23: The session featured one black type trial over`900m on the course proper won by the good mare FASIKA (53.81; 33.48). She tracked wide all the way and was never off the bit to hold an advantage over her rivals.

ROSEHILL July 16:  Boom Snitzel colt REMARQUE was too classy for his rivals, working easily for a soft win in slow time (55.83; 35.50).

RANDWICK JULY 9: The quickest 735m heat was won by MAZU (44.12; 34.35), a fast Maurice colt who won at Canterbury before a G3 placing in the autumn in the Pago Pago Stakes. He was keen to run but was held down by Tommy Berry and worked well within himself over the last 200m.

GOSFORD July 6: A good open company heat over 1000m saw OXFORD TYCOON take the eye with his strong third after tracking wide. He could have won the trial if Jay Ford had given him rein over the last 200m. Backed it up with another strong trial at Newcastle on July 22.

WARWICK FARM July 6: ACADEMY worked strongly for an easy win in his open heat over 1175m (70.30; 34.56) while the quickest 740m heat was won by the Mark Newnham- trained 2YO MONTE DRIFTER, who chased keenly to get the better of the leaders in his trial.
