TRIAL POINTERS
GOSFORD March 18: MORE SUNDAYS was under a race ban after winning his last start at Rosehill on January 29 as he was found to have bled from one nostril. The embargo was lifted after he produced one of the best trials of the session making up many lengths under a quiet ride to finish second in his 1000m heat (61.13; 35.82).
WARWICK FARM March 14: The fastest 816m heat (48.70; 34.20) was won by NIMBOSTRATUS, an interesting Irish-bred 4YO mare by Wootton Bassett. She won as a 2YO in Ireland and then raced in California for 12 months where she won twice over six furlongs at Santa Anita and now lands in Sydney in the Annabel Neasham stable. Her prospects look good as she travelled strongly in the lead and had something in hand through the line. Winners to make an impression included KING OF NAPLES in his 810m heat (49.51; 35.10) and VILANA in a 740m heat on the polytrack (45.00; 34.28).
WARWICK FARM March 11 (Polytrack): The second 1175m heat was won by the accomplished Group winner IMAGING (72.62; 36.50), doing enough to get the better of much lesser performed rivals. His Waller-trained stablemate STRAIGHT ARRON took the eye with his effort.
RANDWICK March 3 (Polytrack): EXOBOOM, having his first outing since he ran in the Villiers in December, always had control of his 1080m heat and looked to have plenty in reserve holding his rivals in the run to the line (64.86; 34.68). In the fastest 1080m heat (63.99; 34.23) the trial to note came from the honest sprinter SIGNORE FOX breezing home from last in his first trial since December. He's a second tier Group performer who should find a suitable sprint over the autumn.
WYONG February 25: CATESBY (49.82; 33.18) took the honours in the three open heats over 845m.
HAWKESBURY September 2: The classy sprinter TRUMBULL put recent issues behind him with an easy front running win in the fastest 1000m heat (59.23; 33.45). In his most recent trial at Gosford on March 18 he impressed with his strong third in a 1000m heat (61.13; 35.82).
