RANDWICK October 8

RACE 3 (9) PINK IVORY: Strong mare with plenty of scope to improve off her last start win over 1800m at Rosehill on September 10 when having just her second run back from a break. She won her maiden on a Heavy 8 by four lengths, enough to give you confidence in her ability to run these down as she will be giving them a start like she did last time. Offset the month between runs with an enthusiastic third in a Randwick trial on September 26.

RACE 5 (7) NEVER TALK: The wetter the better for this mudlark. She's a four time winner on soft and heavy tracks and added to her terrific record in the conditions when she resumed on September 17 with a game third in a strong BM88 under 57kg for her third placing over this course and distance. She railed up to hit the lead before her run peaked in the inferior ground and she may be in the right place this time from a wider draw with 3kg less weight.

RACE 10 (11) FEEL THE KNIGHT: Putting faith in this 7YO to find his best form at his third run back after almost two years on the sidelines. He's  good in the wet, boasts excellent Randwick credentials and looks on song for a win in this class under a light weight as he is sure to take benefit from his last start when he finished hard under 59kg for second over this course and distance.

TRIAL POINTERS

RANDWICK September 26: CHARLEISE, a new addition to the O'Shea stable, impressed with his strong second in an open heat over 1045m (64.68; 35.64) )in his second trial since he left the Maher/Eustace team. This was a heat with plenty of depth with classy prospect WATERFORD given easy work over the last 400m. The O'Shea-trained COTEHELE led for a strong win in his 1045m heat (64.23; 34.78) and looks set to perform well fresh after two solid trials. The free running maiden filly ON THE BEACH bounced off her debut failure to record another sharp trial win in the fastest 1045m heat (63.61; 35.71), leading by six and coasting home almost five lengths clear. She is unbeaten in three trials and this was the form the Waterhouse/Bott stable expected from her when she had her first start. Other maidens showing nice promise included TRADITION.

WARWICK FARM Sept 23: The fastest 792m heat was won by the noted flier CAPITAL REIGN speeding over the trip in 46.29 (33.10) to score by two lengths. The Snowden stable won a 2YO heat over 789m with smart type KING'S GAMBIT (46.63; 33.82). Looks well educated for his race debut.

ROSEHILL September 20: GINGER'S GAL recorded a free running win in her quick 900m heat (54.75; 34.31). She's now won five trials – much better than she displayed in her only start last season. O'TYCOON suffered first loss in five trials finishing hard for second in his 900m heat  (55.16; 34.80). He was costly only start last season but is better than that. Godolphin filly FRONTENAC went through the line strongly finishing a close second in the fastest of the four 1030m heats (63.11; 35.06)
