RANDWICK December 24

RACE 7 (6) DEMOCRACY MANIFEST: This 4YO is flying and with James McDonald back in the saddle is sure to be a popular elect after his excellent last start win over 1400m at this course when he stormed home over the top of his rivals carrying 60kg. Gets out to 1600m for the first time but the manner of his last start win says he should relish the trip with 2.5kg less weight. Suspect he may get a J Mac "special" from his inside draw.

RACE 8 (14) SUNSHINE IN PARIS: I've been keen on this filly from the first time I saw her trial and she has not disappointed in her two career starts. Too classy on debut for a maiden field at Canberra then measured up to some seasoned rivals over 1200m in Listed company at Doomben where she hit the line hard for an impressive third. Takes on older mares here but has untapped potential and is sure to test them with her big weight advantage.

RACE 9 (12) GREEN SHADOWS: We've had to wait an extra week after his late scratching last Saturday due to a treatment mix-up. That means he's now gone 31 days since his last start second over 1600m at Warwick Farm where the subsequent Group winner Komalica nailed him by a nose at level weights in a strong form race that has since produced two other winners! He was strong through the line when given a soft tick over trial at Rosehill on December 8 and I expect he will respond well to the application of blinkers. Well placed in this grade carrying only 51kg after Tyler Schiller's claim.

RACE 1 (5) PLATINUM JUBILEE: Her debut win was extraordinary. Classy.

RACE 2 (5) DEFICIT:  Has had a strong prep for this distance. Looks ready.

RACE 3 (8) AUSBRED FLIRT: Rates well off her big provincial wins.

RACE 5 (10) LOVING CILLA: Meets an average lot. Won't get a better chance to notch a city win.

RACE 6 (4) JUST A JEDI: Tough and fit stayer going for a 2400m double. Have to like his chances with 4kg less.

RACE 10 (8) SHOW SOME DECORUM: Kept fresh since impressive Victorian win under big weight. Top stable pick their marks well.

RACE 2 (9) MARELLE: Showed promise in her first start in August and looked even better when resuming over 1300m on the Kensington track on December 2 when she finished strongly after racing wide to go under by only a nose as a short priced favourite. No doubt she will get her chance over this longer trip as she's a typical Savabeel filly who will keep improving with racing.

RACE 7 (9) BARANOF: Took him a while to break his maiden but he's now won two of his last four starts and looks capable of going on with it in this class after his strong last start effort to get home over 1400m at Hawkesbury under 59kg. He's hard fit and with form on the board over this course and distance he's in the right place at the right time in a field where many of his rivals are resuming.

RACE 8 (14) COMPASSIONATE: Expecting a bold showing at a good price from this Wyong-trained mare at her third run back from a spell after taking the eye in two unsuitable races since resuming. She's drawn to get every chance from a favourable draw and won't have to find much off her last start fifth in a strong Magic Millions feature on her home track on December 14 to take a hand in this open affair.

TRIAL POINTERS

RANDWICK December 13: RUSSIAN CONQUEST looked a class above her rivals forging clear for a soft win in one of the quicker 1050m heats (62.74;34.23), good evidence that she has freshened up nicely since her short spring campaign. Plenty of quality about this filly.

ROSEHILL December 8: A pleasing return by Gimcrack Stakes winner PLATINUM JUBILEE with her race experience evident in a fast run 900m heat. She had company on her outside from the start but her class kicked in over the last 200m as she strode away to win by more than three lengths in the fastest trial of the morning (53.96; 34.15). A strong debut trial by the Zoustar filly DIVOTS. Travelled easily in second in her maiden heat over 900m (54.57; 34.53) and was never off the leash to overhaul the leader and coast to a soft win by 1.4 lengths. Should take plenty of benefit from the experience.

RANDWICK September 19: The effort of fourth placed GODZILLA (Shalaa) was good in a 2YO colts heat over 850m (51.36; 35.49) that had some substance.
