RANDWICK June 2

A Grass; Good 4

12 Heats – 1 x 1200m (Open); 6 x 1045m (3 Open; 2 2YO; 1 Maiden); 5 x 737m (1 Open; 3 2YO; 1 3YO)

Godolphin's classy colt AFT CABIN was the big name player, having a mid-prep trial to prime him for his crack at the G1 Stradbroke in Brisbane on June 10.

He worked a treat to win his open heat over 1045m with ease, tracking the leaders and showing an impressive turn of foot to rail underneath them at the 300m and scoot clear for a soft win.

His overall time wasn't flash (64.11; 34.33) but he is obviously in good health and did all that was required to win the heat by 1.55 lengths from TOO MUCH CAVIAR and I AM LETHAL. The third horse worked home strongly from last and was doing his best through the line, putting in his second eye catching trial in his build up for his return to racing.

The promising NOSTALGIA, a maiden Zoustar filly from the Waller stable, posted the quickest time in the 1045m heats (63.05; 34.40). She had impressed leading into her first race start in November and is certain to repay the stable for their patience.

Other 1045m heat winners to impress included the quality 3YO RUSSIAN CONQUEST (63.39; 34.20) and TROPICAL SQUALL (63.16; 34.78), an unraced Prized Icon filly from the Waterhouse/Bott stable who is ready to go to the races after two promising trials. Her previously noted unraced stablemate KITTY CHAT again made an impression finishing a strong third and is another youngster set for a big debut.

The previously noted trio MISTY LEGEND, SICILIAN and WATCH MY GIRL filled the placings in the other 2YO heat over 1045m (63.42; 34.76) with all three having obvious talent.

The brilliant filly PASSEGGIATA recorded another huge win in her 737m heat, showing her amazing short course speed to win the heat by more than nine lengths (43.45l 33.49) and could have gone quicker.

The fastest 737m heat was won by TIME TO BOOGIE (43.10; 33.09), holding an advantage to the line over BIOGRAPHER. This should be reliable trial form.

Bjorn Baker's unraced Zoustar filly SPRING LEE made a good impression winning the fastest of the three 2YO heats over the short trip (43.84; 33.44), extending easily from off the pace with impressive work over the last 200m for a soft two lengths win.
