WARWICK FARM June 9

Inside Grass; Good 4

14 Heats – 3 x 1200m (2 Open; 1 Maiden); 4 x 792m 3 Open; 1 2YO); 4 x 789m (4 2YO); 3 x 785m (3 2 Open; 1 3YO)

A good mix of exposed runners confirming their form, interesting arrivals posting nice trials and some promising newcomers among the juveniles.

ASTERO (Matthew Smith): Finished fourth in his open heat over 792m won by RUBIWISH (47.14; 33.65) but it was an eye catching effort as he worked home under a cold ride from well off the pace and was extending nicely through the line. Looks set to carry on with the good form he has displayed through his autumn prep. This was a trial of some substance with other noted efforts by the placegetters LOLLY YEATS and WHINCHAT.

DANCING ALONE (Bryce Heys)/NANA'S WISH (Maher/Eustace): The unbeaten I Am Invincible filly DANCING ALONE looked sharp winning the fastest short course heat of the morning over 785m (45.94; 33.21) in her first trial since she won her first two starts in January and February. She settled three back on the rail, peeled off at the 300m and sprinted smoothly to the line for a soft win over the previously noted MILLYBELLA. Ex-Kiwi NANA'S WISH, a winner over 1400m in NZ, is a Belardo filly now in the strong Maher/Eustace stable and is one to follow after she surged home from well off the pace for a strong third.

The four 789m heats for 2YOs were even affairs with notable wins by ESTRIELLA (46.61; 33.65), WEMBLEY (46.65; 33.81) and RELATIVES (46.79; 34.05).
