RANDWICK June 13

A Grass; Good 4

13 Heats – 1 x 1200m (Open); 7 x 1045m (3 Open; 3 2YO; 1 Maiden); 5 x 740m (1 Open; 3 2YO; 1 3YO)

The Waterhouse/Bott and John O'Shea stables dominated the session, each winning four heats.

HOWGOODAREYOU (Waterhouse/Bott): Unraced 3YO filly by So You Think has been in the blackbook since we highlighted her only previous trial last August when she won a heat at Gosford. There's obvious talent here as she again made an impression to come from six lengths off the lead after sitting three wide in her 1045m heat (63.63; 35.58), reeling in her rivals with a strong surge over the last 200m for a narrow win.

LADYKING (John O'Shea): Not one of his heat winners but really liked the way this unraced 2YO filly by Maurice attacked the line to finish fourth in her 740m heat won by the Godolphin's G2 winner EXPLORING (45.33; 34.88). This was only her second trial and first since December and expect she will take plenty of benefit from the work.

SCHWARZ (John O'Shea): First trial by this $1.25 million colt by Zoustar saw him do all that was required to record a strong win in his 740m heat (44.64; 34.01), responding well after tracking the pace and looking open to obvious improvement. It was the fastest 2YO heat over the distance and the trial should be a reliable guide as the Group winning 4YO INGRATIATING finished third after he was added to the field.

SPECIAL ENVOY (Waterhouse/Bott); This imported 4YO by Frankel looks ready for his Australian debut after a stylish win in his 1200m heat (73.97; 35.47). Trials over this trip are rarely nothing more than working gallops but he was given a good test by Adam Hyeronimus over the last 400m in style and stretched out nicely when asked to extend, showing good improvement on his first local trial.

Waterhouse and Bott also won 1045m heats with their unraced 2YOs LOVE AND LIGHT (62.87; 34.72) and WASTED YOUTH (62.93; 35.07) while O'Shea's team picked up 1045m heats with the race fit pair COTEHELE (64.97; 35.45) and SHALAILED (63.79; 34.77) and a 2YO heat over 740m with the unraced COSTNER (44.89; 34.24).

Racy Capitalist filly LOVE AND LIGHT has now won two trials, beating her stablemate TAORMINA into second place both times. She led and slipped away from her stablemate at the 600m, proving too nippy in the quickest time for the seven heats over the trip. I Am Invincible filly WASTED LIGHT posted her best result in four trials with an easy win by three lengths in in good time. She's improved with experience and has been well educated.

Last start Rosehill winner COTEHELE showed he is in rude health, impressing with a strong finish under a soft ride to win his 1045m heat (64.97; 35.45) with stablemate WAIHAHA FALLS also finishing off in style for an easy third.
