ROSEHILL July 4

Inside Grass; Soft 6

8 Heats – 2 x 1030m (1 Open; 1 Maiden); 6 x 900m (2 Open; 4 2YO)

Few standouts due to soft condition s that saw times well outside the usual standard.

HIGH PLATEAU (James Cummings): Talented Lonhro 4YO should take plenty of improvement from his strong fourth in his first trial since April, travelling wide in his 900m heat won by SILENTSAR (56.97; 36.61) and not asked for a serious effort as he held his ground well over the last 200m. He's only had the three starts for two wins and has the look of a horse ready to climb the classes.

Wyong trainer Nathan Doyle brought a small team to town and won three heats with SUNZOU, BOSTON ROCKS and WOOLOOWIN.

SUNZOU controlled his 1030m heat from the front and responded well for a soft win in the faster of the two heats over the distance (63.78; 36.28). He has landed in the Doyle stable from Victoria where his form says he will measure up to provincial and midweek class in NSW.

Hellbent youngster BOSTON ROCKS confirmed the ability he displayed in a recent easy trial win at Wyong to post a dominant win by more than four lengths in his 900m heat (56.24; 36.31). He obviously goes a lot better than the form he displayed in his first race start in February.

Other 2YOs to impress included INFATUATION, SUMMER LOVING and THE LITTLE PUMPER, a trio who made their mark with quality performances earlier in the season.
