RANDWICK July 15

Best Bets

RACE 6 (7) VIENNA PRINCESS: Have to stick with this talented Snitzel filly after her luckless sixth as a well tried favourite in this class at Rosehill on July 1 when she went to the line untested after being held up behind the leaders from the turn. The beauty is she stays on the same weight (54.5kg) after her super Rosehill win over 1300m at her previous start when she sprinted hard to the line under 58.5kg. She's meeting some seasoned older rivals but there's no doubt she's going well enough to test this company.

RACE 8 (6) SILENT AGENDA: He's run cracking races at his last two starts in this class over 1400m at this course when taking the eye with his big finishes from the rear. Just missed in a tight finish when third last time and is sure to relish the extra 200m, the obvious view being that he has been set for this as all his seven wins have been recorded over 1600m up to 1900m and they include two victories at this course.

RACE 9 (5) FIRST IN LINE: Good class imported stayer showed he has come up well when he kept finding the line for a close third in this class over this course and distance on June 24 when having his first outing since he pulled up lame when fifth in the Canberra Cup in March. He's since put in strong work to finish second in a 1200m trial at Warwick Farm, a good indicator that he has done well since his first-up placing. Conditions will suit with his improved fitness.

For Value

RACE 2: (10) RUBY FLYER: Comes off an easy Newcastle win. Rates well enough on that form.

RACE 3: (10) TAKE THE KITTY: Hits the city for a winnable Highway off easy wins on his home track. Stable boasts a big Highway strike rate.

RACE 5: (12) DAKOTA VROOM: Made an impression winning maiden first-up. Capable of rapid progression.

RACE 10: (10) KESHANA: Imported mare has shown obvious talent in two trials. Expect a bold showing

TRIAL POINTERS

WARWICK FARM July 7: You have to respect the times VINDICATION, a flier by Deep Field, has been running in two recent trial wins at Warwick Farm. He led with ease and was never off the bit posting the fastest 980m heat win (46.71; 33.12) while running home in the fastest sectional. Has only one win over 1150m in seven starts but can be well placed over a short course first-up. The two open heats featured some nice trials from good staying types including the Matt Smith imports FIRST IN LINE and ROYAL ROBBINS.

RANDWICK June 30: Imported mare KESHANA had a good record of two wins and three placings from seven starts in France and looks ready for her local debut after another eye catching effort in her second trial. She won her first trial against two rivals over 740m at Randwick on June 13 and backed that up with a strong third in her open heat over 743m (44.29; 33.95),  working nicely through the line with plenty to offer.

CANTERBURY June 26: Blue Diamond Prelude winner EXPLORING was not the fastest 2YO heat winner of the morning but a lot to like about the way she went through her gears in her 900m trial (56.01; 34.93). She went head and head in the lead with a pacy runner before extending easily at the 300m and running smoothly to the line for a strong win under no great pressure. The Godolphin stable would also have been pleased with the solid effort by TROACH in her heat.
