ROSEHILL July 21

14 Heats; Good 4

Course Proper – 1 x 1000m (Group/Listed) 2 x 900m (Group/Listed)

Inside Grass - 2 x 1030m ((1 Open; 1 2 & 3YO); 9 x 900m (1 Open; 2 3YO; 6 2YO)

An early alert that the new season is fast approaching with three heats on the course proper for black type performers.

HEAT 1 (1000m): Exciting stayer GOLDMAN won the trial (62.31; 34.91) over a classy bunch that included the Derby winner MAJOR BEEL and the Cox Plate placegetter EL BODEGON. MAJOR BEEL led and was never extended to finish a soft second.

HEAT 2 (900m): Sharp work by the good sprinter ROCKETING BY to win, leading from start to finish (56.68; 34.10). The trial that really took the eye was the strong third by the Rosehill Guineas winner LINDERMANN under a very easy ride from Nash Rawiller. Other nice trials from the Thousand Guineas winner MADAME POMMERY and KRISTILLI.

HEAT 3 (900m): The classy mare I AM ME backed up her earlier trial win at Warwick Farm on July 1 with another impressive piece of work to win this heat with plenty in hand (56.62; 34.80). The eye catcher came from the former SA-trained 4YO EXTREMELY LUCKY putting in excellent work over the last 200m to finish second in his first appearance for the Waller stable. FANGIRL and OLENTIA also had nice pipe openers to their preparations.

There were a number of promising trials from some nice prospects in the heats on the inside grass, especially the promising filly AUGUST BLOOM. She made quite an impression in the autumn and her impressive third in her 900m heat augers well for her spring prospects.

NOTED TRIALS

X Art Volant; Bright Red; California Sunrise; Carrazana; Disney Castle; Foujita San; Glacier Queen; Helldancer; I Am Me; Major Beel; Nostalgia; Russian Snitzel; Stromboli; Suspect; Vreneli; Wineglass Bay
