WARWICK FARM August 4

17 Heats – Good 4

Course Proper – 1 x 1000m (Group/Listed); 2 x 900m (Group/Listed)

A Grass – 3 x 1200m (2 Open; 1 Maiden); 3 x 816m (3 Open); 4 x 813m (1 3YO; 3 Maiden); 3 x 810m (3 Maiden)

Polytrack – 1 x 740m (Opon)

Godolphin won two of the three black type heats with a pair of their excellent prospects for the early spring races.

HEAT 1 (1000m): A ground breaking win for the G1 star MO'UNGA as it was his first success in 17 barrier trial outings. He led comfortably and did all that was required to get the result (60.95; 34.63) narrowly from THINK IT OVER and BUENOS NOCHES. The trio worked home three abreast from the 300m with none of the three being fully extended. Out the back the stayers SOULCOMBE and DUAIS had quiet trials.

HEAT 2 (900m): Godolphin has the quality mare PARISAL fully tuned to resume after another impressive heat win (54.04; 34.25). While the time was leisurely she looked classy putting in her best work over the last 50m to get the better of the Derby winner MAJOR BEEL after sitting off him from the start. Adrian Knox winner ARTS worked home nicely from last for third in her first trial since she failed in the SA Oaks.

HEAT 3: CYLINDER showed again he is one of Godolphin's best spring prospects with classy work to win his heat in good time (53.60; 34.27).  He sat wide off the leaders but was travelling sweetly and had plenty in reserve getting the upper hand over the last 100m. Easy work behind them by the good mare HINGED to finish fourth.

There were some notable heat wins by two promising fillies In the heats on the A Grass.

TAORMINA (Waterhouse/Bott): Unbeaten Written Tycoon filly is set to extend her sequence after cruising through her 813m heat for a soft win in the fastest of the four trials over the distance (47.59; 33.36); Had control from the start and was working well within herself to score by a clear margin under a soft ride.

TIZ INVINCIBLE (Maher/Eustace): Dare say she's the best maiden filly in Sydney after her two autumn starts saw her finish a debut fourth as favourite in the Black Opal and second in the G2 Percy Sykes at Randwick. Looked a class above her rivals in her 810m heat (47.71; 33.74), sitting wide off the pace early and making the turn six deep before extending easily to put the trial to bed under no pressure from James McDonald. Sure to win races.

Other maiden runners to make an impression included DARLING DOWNS, BRAVELY, COSTA SMERELDA and JUST WAI.

BELIEBER showed excellent pace to win the only polytrack heat over 740m (42.90; 33.02) by a big space.
