WARWICK FARM October 9

Inside Grass - Good 4

14 Heats – 3 x 1200m (1 Open; 1 Maiden; 1 3YO); 4 x 795m (2 Open; 2 2YO); 4 x 792m (1 Open; 2 3YO; 2 Maiden); 3 x 789m (3 Maiden)

Fast times in the short course heats under good conditions favouring the speed runners.

WATERSKI (James Cummings): Promising filly showed nice improvement from her race debut to win her heat over 789m in one of the fastest times of the morning (45.63; 32.89). Showed talent to travel strongly behind the lead pair before peeling off their backs and running past them with ease like a future winner.

WONDEREACH (Matthew Smith): Has won three of his six starts up to 1000m and showed again there are few restricted runners quicker over a short course by clearing out to win his 792m heat by more than seven lengths in the fastest time of the session (45.07; 32.08). As long as he's placed in suitable races they will find it hard to run him down but hold your breath when gets past 1000m!

Big talent FAWKNER PARK recorded a strong win his 1200m heat (74.60; 35.67) in a sure sign he will be competitive when he resumes. The classy prospect MARQUESS had an easy time finishing fourth in a mid-prep trial for what lies ahead.

In the 2YO heats I Am Invincible colt THE THREE HUNDRED recorded his second Warwick Farm trial win, breaking away from his rivals with superior speed over the last 400m for a sharp win in his 795m heat (46.24; 33.18) in quicker time than the fillies heat won by MISS JUDAS (46.60; 33.57).

The speed runners dominated the short course maiden heats with some smart wins by FLYING RANI (792m – 45.40; 32.58); STORM THE RAMPARTS (792m – (46.45; 33.37) and RAGGA RAGGA (789m – 45.81; 33.19).
