TRIAL POINTERS

ROSEHILL January 11: Loved the first soft trial by SWITZERLAND at Warwick Farm on January 2 and another easy piece of work by this unraced Snitzel youngster to finish third in the quickest 900m heat won by DEPUTIZE (53.46; (33.93) confirms that he is a talented prospect. Eager to see what he can do under race conditions. A sharp 900m heat win by the I Am Invincible youngster INNERVISIONS showing the same speed (53.66; 33.82) that saw him successful in his previous trial at Warwick Farm.

CANTERBURY January 9: I Am Invincible colt CABALLUS was a Randwick winner last season and impressed winning a Rosehill trial on December 29. He went on with it here easily winning his 902m heat under no pressure (54.50; 33.79). Liked the way he opened up over the last 100m to win the heat by more than three lengths. The unraced trial star LUNA FIELD won his fifth trial with another easy gallop over 897m (53.87; 34.23).

WARWICK FARM January 2: We tabbed promising Deep Field colt CALL ME GORGEOUS when he won his first trial at Randwick on December 11 and this effort confirmed that he will have no trouble picking up a maiden win. Tracked a fast pace before peeling off the back of the leader at the 200m and extending like a good horse to easily win the 808m heat in the fastest of all the short course trials (46.58; 33.15), being the only winner to go under 47 seconds. They left the third horse seven lengths away! SWITZERLAND, a colt from the Waller yard, stamped himself as one to follow with an impressive second in his 812m heat (47.67; 33.92).

ROSEHILL December 29: It was a good morning for the Bjorn Baker team with strong trials by CABALLUS winning the fastest 900m heat (53.77; 34.11) and O'TYCOON. NORTON ROAD, IRONTON and SIDE SHOW are runners to keep an eye on from the maiden heats.

WARWICK FARM December 22: The 2YO heat winners over 813m INNERVISIONS (48.60; 34.70) and RUNRANIRUN (48.36; 34.20) recorded similar times, each showing good speed to lead them up and win with something in reserve. The heats also saw some nice efforts by BOSUSTOW; DEPUTIZE and CARAVANSERAI.

ROSEHILL December 18: LUNA FIELD is an unraced natural talent who continues to build a reputation with impressive trials. He's now had five trials for four wins and a second and there's obviously a story behind why his debut has been delayed however it's obvious he has the ability as he again displayed his natural speed to lead with ease and cruise away with his 900m heat (55.11; 34.73) under a cold ride from Rachel King. His time wasn't out of the box but he was running with plenty in reserve.

RANDWICK December 11: The 740m open heats also featured a promising win by the David Pfieffer-trained CALL ME GORGEOUS (43.38; 33.31).

ROSEHILL June 20: LUNA FIELD is a youngster by Deep Field with bright prospects after a soft win in his 900m heat (54.77; 35.26) where he led comfortably and always had the chasers well covered. He has now won three of his four trials since November and should take this form to the races.
