Inglis’ Ready2Race Sale will be conducted on Tuesday
All of the preparatory work has been done, now it is up to buyers with the lots who make up this year's Inglis Ready2Race Sale to go under the hammer on Tuesday.
Last Thursday's second set of Warwick Farm breeze-ups saw 31 two-year-olds put through their paces, which followed an earlier session in Sydney and breeze-ups at Seymour in Victoria, Eagle Farm in Brisbane and Cambridge in New Zealand.
The horse who clocked the fastest time last Thursday was KBL Thoroughbreds' colt by Flying Artie and Lucy's Legacy, who clocked a time of 10.34secs on a wet morning.
Last Thursday's set brought to 223 the number of youngsters who have breezed-up, 148 of which broke 11 seconds for their 200m gallop, the fastest of which were:
Lot 110: Deep Field x Alderney colt – 10.10secs
Nolen Racing-prepared colt who is out of the High Chaparral mare Alderney, who is a sister to Stakes winner Ballet Suite and half-sister to Listed winner Casquets. The son of Deep Field, who cost $120,000 at this year's Premier Yearling Sale, recorded his time at the Seymour set.
Lot 276: Deep Field x National Anthem gelding – 10.13secs
Another son of one of Newgate's star stallions who was the fastest of the horses who breezed-up in New Zealand. From Riversley Park, the gelding is out a half-sister to Starspangledbanner who also counts Thousand Guineas winner Amicus as a close relation. At $50,000, he was the second cheapest horse at this year's Easter Yearling Sale.
Lot 246: Per Incanto x Mandalong Belle gelding – 10.17secs
Another from the Riversley Park draft who breezed-up in New Zealand, the son of Per Incanto – who was entered for this year's Classic Sale but withdrawn – is from a Choisir mare who has Spanish Bay, who was well-performed in Singapore and boasts Oakleigh Plate winner Khaptingly in the family.
Lot 247: Per Incanto x Manon colt – 10.20secs
Another by Per Incanto, but this one from the Nolen family's JCS Thoroughbreds draft from Benalla who stepped out at Seymour. A $150,000 buy at Premier, he is out of an O'Reilly mare who is a three-quarter sister to former star Kiwi filly and mare Silent Achiever. He will be offered the lot after Riversley Park's Per Incanto gelding.
Lot 186: US Navy Flag x Gotta Be Gold colt – 10.25secs
The Nolen family also produced this son of the former European sprinter, who cost $50,000 at Premier. His dam is by Bernardini and is a half-sister to Listed Hill Smith Stakes (1800m) winner.
Inspections were carried out over the weekend in preparation for Tuesday's sale, which commences from 10am.
