Glen Eden Stud announce death of Swettenham favourite.
Adam Sangster has fondly remembered Trust In A Gust after Glen Eden Stud late on Tuesday announced the death of the Group 1 winner-turned-sire at age 12.
Sangster's Swettenham Stud bred the son of Keep The Faith, who was twice a Group 1 winner on the track before retiring to stand at Swettenham in 2015.
He relocated to another Victorian farm, Glen Eden Stud, for what would be his final season at stud last year but remains close to those at Swettenham.
"Trust in a Gust was a true champion in every sense of the word," Sangster said.
"His exceptional racing ability combined with his undeniable presence made him a favourite among breeders and racing enthusiasts alike.
"We are immensely proud to have bred such a remarkable stallion at Swettenham Stud with his dam, Subtle Breeze, still playing her part as a nanny on the farm."
Trust In Gust won 10 of 23 starts for Darren Weir, including the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) and Toorak Handicap (1600m) at the highest level in 2014.
His best progeny include $175,000 VOBIS Gold Stockade winner Tradewind, city winners Tempest Charm and Chicago Storm and promising Greg Eurell-trained filly Shezatempest.
