Three-time Group 1-winning colt to stand in Hunter Valley.

Hitotsu has found a home at stud with Arrowfield Stud on Tuesday morning announcing that it would be home to the history-making galloper.

The three-time Group 1 winner will stand at the farm he was conceived, where he will stand for a fee of $22,000, including GST.

Hitotsu is a member of the first Australian crop of former Japanese star Maurice, who stood at Arrowfield in five of past six seasons and will return again in 2023, and John Messara was thrilled a deal could be struck to stand him.

"We're proud to stand him as an Arrowfield-bred star returning home, like Castelvecchio, Showtime and The Autumn Sun, horses whose attributes and pedigrees we know thoroughly and can back enthusiastically with large numbers of our own mares," the Arrowfield principal said.

"Along with the committed support of Hitotsu's high-profile owners, that provides a solid platform for early-crop commercial success breeders can rely on."

Hitotsu, who is out of the Redoute's Choice mare Love Is Fickle, was retired due to injury after just eight starts with three of his four wins coming at Group 1 level.

After winning the Victoria Derby (2500m) in the spring of 2021, the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained colt he resumed with victory in the Australian Guineas (1600m) before claiming the ATC Australian Derby (2400m) at what would be his final start.
