Extreme Choice is one of the best horses Mick Price has trained and at Geelong on Friday the master trainer added another chapter to his history with the family.

Price, who now trains with Michael Kent Jnr, produced I Am Invincible three-year-old Kingwell to win the Jack Rabbit Maiden Plate (1135m).

It was Kingwell's second start, following a fourth placing over 1200m at Pakenham on May 25, and winning jockey Ben Melham expects there to be even more improvement to come from the colt.

"He's a nice horse, he's progressive (and) he's learning still," Melham said.

"He's pretty casual, so you've really got to keep him on the job, but hopefully he can gain some confidence out of that and go on with today's win."

Kingwell, who started $4.80, finished too strongly for heavily-backed $1.60 favourite Nokhbah to score by three quarters of a length.

The $550,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase is the ninth foal from the Hussonet mare Extremely.

Her star product is fourth foal Extreme Choice, who had just eight starts for four wins, the Blue Diamond Stakes and Moir Stakes at Group 1 level among them.

Extreme Choice is now one of the country's most sought-after stallions, standing for $275,000 at Newgate, with his progeny including Stay Inside, She's Extreme and Espiona.
