Swettenham Stud will have a new stud manager from mid-next month with Adam McLaughlin this week appointed to the role.

The Englishman has extensive experience on both sides of the equator, having worked at Coolmore Ireland, Coolmore Australia, Shadwell Stud and with William Haggas, along with previous experience at Swettenham.

"I am thrilled to assume the role of Stud Manager at Swettenham Stud," McLaughlin said.

"Having previously spent a season here with Highland Reel, I am familiar with the farm, the world-class roster and exceptional team.

"The farm's storied history and the iconic Sangster family leave an indelible impression, and I am honoured to contribute to the legacy whilst delivering exceptional results for all of our clients."

Swettenham Stud principal Adam Sangster is thrilled to have McLaughlin joining the team.

"Having seen Adam McLaughlin in action throughout the 2021 breeding season at Swettenham Stud, we have no doubt that he has the skillset and knowledge to lead us through the next chapter of growth," Sangster said.

"Adam has proven his knowledge in all facets of the thoroughbred breeding world and comes to Swettenham with my full backing and support as well as the support of our tenured team.

"He will work closely with GM Sam Matthews and, along with my entire team, will continue to deliver the service and results that we are known for."

McLaughlin will start his new role on July 10.
