Legendary sprinter gives birth to foal on her 17th birthday.

Black Caviar's eighth foal will share the same birthday as his legendary mother after his safe delivery on Friday.

The undefeated sprinter produced her third colt when foaling down a youngster by Arrowfield stallion The Autumn Sun.

He was born on August 18, the same date that Black Caviar – a daughter of Bel Esprit and Helsinge – was foaled 17 years earlier.

The Autumn Sun colt was Black Caviar's first foal since her Written Tycoon filly – who is known as Persian Caviar – two years ago, having failed to get in-foal after visits to I Am Invincible and Extreme Choice in between.

The best-performed of her raced stock is Invincible Caviar, who has won four of eights starts, while three of her four others to race are all winners.
