Half-sister to champion mare to debut on Friday

A half-sister to Winx will go head-to-head with another blueblood in a $27,000 three-year-old fillies maiden at Geelong on Friday.

Time Of My Life will step out in the 1121-metre McGrath Estate Agents Maiden Plate, which is Race 3 on the card at 2.30pm.

A daughter of Australia's premier stallion in I Am Invincible, Time Of My Life is the ninth foal from Al Akbar mare Vegas Showgirl, who produced four-time Cox Plate winner Winx with her second foal.

The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman-trained galloper is the result of Vegas Showgirl's only visit to Yarraman Park's champion stallion.

While yet to race, Time Of My Life has had five jumpouts this year, all at Pakenham, including two this preparation.

The first was a second placing over 800m on August 29 before a strong three-length win over 750m on September 5.

Time Of My Life, who will carry Luke Nolen in the Fairway Thoroughbreds colours of her breeder John Camilleri, sits on the second line of betting in early markets, behind the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Isthmus, who is the first foal from Shoals.

Isthmus will be having her third start in a race, having finished third at Flemington on debut before a ninth placing in the Listed Oxlade Stakes (1300m) at Eagle Farm on June 10.

The second of Shoals' three Group 1 wins came in the 2018 Surround Stakes, which was the race after Winx registered the third of her four-straight Chipping Norton Stakes wins.
