Coolmore is the new owner of John Singleton's famed Strawberry Hill Stud after finalising a deal to acquire the Central Coast property.

In a deal brokered by Donovan & Co in partnership with Magic Millions, the property has been secured by Tom Magnier of Coolmore Australia for an undisclosed price.

Like most of Singleton's racing and breeding stock, Strawberry Hill Stud was put on the market with Singleton keen to sell down his racing interests and Magnier said it was poised to play an important role in Coolmore's Australian interests.

"The plan is for it to be a world-class spelling farm for the best horses, to give them every opportunity to go back to their trainers in top condition," Magnier said.

"We have had lots of success at Coolmore with breakers including Shinzo, Fangirl, Jacquinot and Home Affairs and we want to complete that circle by having the best place to spell them at Mount White.

"We have searched for a long time to find the right place. When we saw what John had created, it was a huge thrill to end up with it and be given this opportunity to continue John's legacy."

The sale of the farm follows last month's on-farm dispersal sale which saw 55 lots sell at a gross of almost $15.5 million.
