Media World, the most expensive colt burgeoning giant Yulong bought on this year's sale circuit, will make his debut at Caulfield this Saturday.

The son of Written Tycoon and dual Group 3 winner Meryl will take on eight rivals in the $175,000 Listed Merson Cooper Stakes (1000m).

Media World cost $1.4 million out of the Fairview Park Stud draft at Inglis Easter and co-trainer Peter Snowden said a look at Caulfield on Tuesday has him confident of a strong debut showing.

"He's always shown a bit of ability, his trials have been good and he's quite a tractable horse," Snowden, who trains in partnership with his son Paul, told RSN927.

"We took him there (Caulfield) on Tuesday morning and worked him and he did everything perfectly.

"He's a very professional little colt. He's got natural pace – without being a brilliant horse, he's got natural pace – and he seems very genuine.

"I'm very happy with what he's doing at the moment anyway."

Media World started preparations for his debut in Sydney, where he finished second in a 900m Rosehill trial on November 6, before a fourth placing in an 800m Flemington jumpout on November 17.

He is by the former Australian Champion Stallion who stands at Yulong out of a daughter of Golden Rose winner Epaulette who won a G3 B J McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at two before adding the G3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) at The Valley at three.

The only yearling Yulong spent more money at a yearling sale this year was the sister to Sunlight (Zoustar-Solar Charged) that they went to $2.6 million for.
