Some of the expected top lots of Day 1 at the Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
The Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale kicks off on Tuesday with more than 1400 youngsters catalogued in the biggest offering yet.
Below are five of the 210 lots catalogued for the opening session who are expected to be among the day's top highest achievers.
LOT 16 – I AM INVINCIBLE x OUTBACK BARBIE
Yarrman Park filly by a stallion who has dominated this sale in recent years out of a Spirit Of Boom mare who screams Magic Millions, having placed in both the 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas, having also won a $1m QTIS Open on the Magic Millions raceday. One of several products of I Am Invincible who could stand up early on the day with colts out of Palace Talk (Lot 19) and Palazzo Pubblico (Lot 21) also turning heads at inspections.
LOT 28 – WOOTTON BASSETT x PATSY BOYNE
The first member of the first Australian crop of the son of Iffraaj, who made a belated start to his Australian career after starring in the UK. This Bhima Thoroughbreds filly is out of the Galileo mare Patsy Boyne, a three-quarter-sister to High Chaparral.
LOT 47 – WRITTEN TYCOON x PIPING HOT
Coolangatta is one of the Gold Coast Yearling Sale's major success stories of recent years and Milburn Creek will offer her sister, around an hour-and-a-half into the sale.
LOT 75 – SNITZEL x QUILISTA
Along with I Am Invincible, Snitzel has been a banner stallion of the Gold Coast sale and one of his expected stars of the opening day is Cressfield's filly out of the speedy Scandal Keeper mare Quilista, herself a Magic Millions success story, having sold for $950,000 at the 2019 National Broodmare Sale after initially being bought for just $10,000.
LOT 169 – FARNAN x SEXY EYES
One of the most popular first-season sires in the spring of 2021 was Golden Slipper winner Farnan, the son of Not A Single Doubt who will have 34 yearlings offered throughout the week, one of the most popular being Milburn Creek's filly out of Sexy Eyes.
Bidding commences at the Gold Coast sales complex from 11am Tuesday.
