Nick Wakim bought back into a family he knows well when he landed one of the star fillies of the first day of this year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

The Victoria-based breeder went to $1.8 million for a daughter of I Am Invincible and Notting Hill, who was prepared for sale by Yarraman Park.

Notting Hill is a daughter of Pierro and Redoute's Choice's sister Monsoon Wedding, the dam of Encosta De Lago mare Precious Lorraine, who produced Meuse.

Wakim raced that Listed-winning daughter of Snitzel, who he bought for $500,000 as a yearling and sold for $1.2 million, in-foal to Dundeel, at the 2021 Chairman's Sale.

Wakim wondering at the time whether that was the right move and when he saw the I Am Invincible filly appear at Easter he felt compelled to get back involved.

"Obviously Meuse is my filly, which I raced and I sold, and she's probably the only one I've sold that I thought, 'did I make the right decision?'," Wakim said.

"This is a beautiful filly and an opportunity to get back into the family.

"It's a great family, obviously we're owner/breeders, so she'll race but more importantly she'll be a great broodmare to come back into our broodmare band."

Existing connection aside, Wakim said the filly who will be trained by Ciaron Maher was a standout.

"She's the best filly I've seen for a long time; best filly on ground, probably one of the best few fillies I've seen ever.

"So, it's the right family, right cross and we were quite keen to get her."

Wakim's big buy became the highest-priced filly of the sale to that point, just $100,000 behind Day 1's early standout, the colt by Zoustar who was bought by Coolmore's Tom Magnier.
