In any other year, Booker's second foal would have been the talk of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

The Oakleigh Plate winner's filly by reigning two-time Australian Champion Sire, I Am Invincible, who was offered late on Day 2 sold for $3 million.

Had she been offered three hours earlier, that would have made her the highest-priced yearling filly ever sold in Australia, bettering the two previous fillies who had sold for $2.6m, and the equal third most expensive yearling.

But those marks were obliterated earlier in the day when Winx's first foal, a daughter of Pierro, sold to Debbie Kepitis for $10m.

Kepitis outbid Resolute Racing's John Stewart for the Winx filly, but it was Stewart who landed the daughter of Booker and Tom Magnier from Coolmore, who sold both fillies, was thrilled to see him land one of the fillies of the sale.

"She's absolutely stunning and a big thanks to John Stewart," Magnier said.

"He came to stay at the farm two weeks ago and he looked the yearlings. He obviously loved the Winx, but he loved the Booker as well, so I'm delighted for him that he's got her."

It was the second outstanding result with Booker for Coolmore, which bought the daughter of Written Tycoon for $1.6m at the Inglis Chairman's Sale in 2020.

Last year, her first foal, a colt by I Am Invincible who has been named Railway Man, sold for $2.5m at Magic Millions.

"That just gives us the confidence to come back and buy more mares again," Magnier said of the sales results, knowing Chairman's Sale is coming up at Inglis in a month's time.

The Winx and Booker fillies were the top two lots of a second and final day that saw 14 yearlings sell for more than $1m – 10 more than Sunday's first day.

Day 2 grossed $84,230,000 – more than $14m up on Sunday's first day – taking the sale gross to $150,7650,000 with yearlings selling at an average of $430,757 with a median of $300,000.

Last year's sale – when 23 fewer lots were offered – grossed $139,290,000 at an average of $386,917 with a $280,000 median.
