Helvic Dream takes International Stakes at the Curragh
Power (Oasis Dream) was represented by his 14th stakes winner on Sunday when Helvic Dream (3 g ex Rachevie by Danehill Dancer) took out the International Sateks (Gr 3, 1m2f) at the Curragh in impressive style.
Trained by Noel Meade the gelding had not since he beat subsequent Matron Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) winner Champers Elysees (Elzaam) in a Median Auction race at Rosscommon last September. On Sunday he scored a seven and a half length victory over Up Helly A (Galileo) whilst there was another four and a half lengths back to Raise You (Lope De Vega) in third.
Helvic Dream was a €12,000 purchase at the 2018 Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale and Sunday’s victory took his record to three wins and six placings from ten starts with his earnings now totalling €84,112.
The gelding is the only winner out of the unraced Danehill Dancer (Danehill) mare Rachevie whilst his third dam is Cascassi (Nijinsky) who produced six winners headed by multiple Listed winner Teide (Mt Livermore). Further back this is the family of Group / Grade 1 winners Diminuendo (Diesis), Calando (Storm Cat) and Port Lucaya (Sharpo).
A Group 1 winning son of Oasis Dream (Green Desert), Power’s stakes winners include three Group 2 winners in Gift Of Power, La Force and Law Of Indicies. He stands at Oaklands Stud in Queensland.
