Coolmore Stud’s peerless stallion Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) sired a stakes double at Leopardstown on Sunday, headed by Joan Of Arc’s (3 f ex You'resothrilling by Storm Cat) victory in the Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial (Gr 3, 1m) which saw the stallion’s total number of stakes winners climb to 334.

Last seen winning the One Thousand Guineas Trial (Gr 1, 7f), the three-year-old filly kept on strongly inside the final furlong to beat Flirting Bridge (Camelot) by a length and three-quarters, while Thinking Of You (American Pharoah) was the same distance away in third.

Joan Of Arc becomes the fifth stakes winner out of Group 2 winner You'resothrilling (Storm Cat) and she has proved herself to be a top-class producer headed by multiple Group 1 winner and now Coolmore Stud-based sire Gleneagles (Galileo), fellow top-flight winners Happily (Galileo) and Marvellous (Galileo) - the dam of Listed winner Fort Myers (War Front).

You'resothrilling also produced dual Zipping Classic (Gr 2, 2400m) winner Taj Mahal (Galileo) and Group 3 scorer Coolmore (Galileo).

You'resothrilling herself is out of Mariah’s Storm (Rahy) - the dam of multiple Group 1 winner and successful late sire Giant’s Causeway (Storm Cat), while she is the dam of Group 1 winner and now Irish Stud-based sire Decorated Knight (Galileo) and Group 2 scorer Storm The Stars (Sea The Stars).

Meanwhile, Galileo’s second stakes winner of the day came when Joan Of Arc’s stablemate Bolshoi Ballet (3 c Galileo - Alta Anna by Anabaa) added a second Group 3 to his record when he impressively landed the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2f) at Leopardstown on Sunday and soared to the top of the market for the Derby (Gr 1, 1m4f) at Epsom.

Last seen landing the Ballysax Stakes (Gr 3, 1m2f), the three-year-old cot looked to have the race in the bag from a long way out, surging clear to beat stablemate Loug Berg (Galileo) by an emphatic six lengths, while Fernando Vichi (Australia) was another half a length way in third.

"He's lovely, isn't he? He's coming on lovely and we're very happy with him. He's uncomplicated – he relaxes and he quickens. He was pencilled in for the two runs – the Ballysax and the Derrinstown – and then onto the Derby. We've always loved him and thought a lot of him,” said O’Brien.

Bolshoi Ballet is one of five winners out of the unraced Anabaa (Danzig) mare Alta Anna making him a brother to Zipping Classic (Gr 2, 2400m) winner Southern France.

His second dam produced three winners including French Group 3 winner Abbatiale (Kaldoun) who is herself the dam of multiple Group 3 winner Bewitched (Dansili) - the dam of Group 3 winner Pablo Escobar (Dansili).

Further back this is the same family as Group 3 winner Aviateur (Intense Focus).

Galileo is represented in Australia by his sire sons, Adelaide and Churchill, who both stand at Coolmore Stud, while Highland Reel shuttles to Swettenham Stud in Victoria.
