Coolmore Stud has donated a covering to Camelot (Montjeu), which will be sold as Lot 70 in the Arqana February Sale, with the proceeds to be sent in support of humanitarian aid following the earthquake which struck Turkey and Syria last week.

The covering will be sold without fees on the first day of the two day sale, which begins in Deauville on Tuesday, and is to be used this year or carried over to next year if no live foal is produced. All proceeds will be going towards the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

"Coolmore has a close relationship with the thoroughbred industry in Turkey. Our thoughts are with our friends there and all the Turkish and Syrian people affected by this tragedy," said Coolmore Stud's MV Magnier.

Camelot's 2023 fee is advertised at €60,000.

Eric Hoyeau, President of Arqana, added: "When Coolmore told us that they wanted to sell Camelot out for the benefit of an organization intervening in Turkey to help the people affected by the earthquakes, we immediately agreed to include it as a Wild Card in our February Sale and promote it. "
