Archie Watson-trained Action Point wins on debut at Kempton
Darley's Blue Point (Shamardal) got off the mark when the Archie Watson-trained Action Point (2 c ex Khaleesi Wind by Exceed And Excel) won on debut at Kempton on Monday, providing his sire with his first winner.
Under Hollie Doyle, Action Point settled down in second in the nine-runner field. He took the lead with a furlong left to travel and went on to score by a length and a quarter from Ponga (Acclamation).
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, Action Point is the first winner out of Khaleesi Wind (Exceed And Excel) who is a sister to stakes winning juvenile Excelette. This is also the family of dual Group 2 winning sprinter Bolshoi (Royal Academy).
Blue Point's 2023 fee at Darley's Kildangan Stud is advertised at €35,000.
He shuttles to Darley's Nortwood Park in Australia where his first Australian-bred crops are yearlings.
