The Andrew Carston-trained Art De Triomphe (2 f ex Art Beat by Captain Rio) provided Rich Hill Stud shuttler Vadamos (Monsun) with his first New Zealand-bred winner when breaking her maiden in the NBZ Insurance Pearl Series Race (1000m) at Riccarton Park on Saturday.

Art De Triomphe beat Choisia Prince (Choisir) by a long neck with Mozzarella (Capitalist) a head further back in third.

Bought for NZ$80,000 by Go Racing from the Seaton Park draft at last year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Book 1 Sale, Art De Triomphe becomes the fourth winner for Group 3 winning mare Art Beat (Captain Rio) who has also produced the Group 3 placed filly Arctic Shock (Shocking).

The sire has now produced a total of 21 winners including the stakes placed duo Messidor and Spycatcher.
