Race 1
1 Sailor Jack

It's very difficult to see him being beaten today as he comes into a high weight off a very good effort in the St Leger and won very well at Ellerslie on a Premier Day. Many of his opposition are on the fitness trail to the Jumping season and looking for the rain to arrive. If there are dangers All In BlackBerry and Lochwinnoch are capable on the flat. I have him priced at $1.7 so anything over that looks a decent price.
Selections: 1-2-5-3

Race 2
7 Side Piece

Lightly race 3yo who has shown ability in his first two starts and is bred to step up to the trip he races over for the first time today. On debut he was eye-catching making up ground with the rail out at New Plymouth and then he didn't have all favors working early at Whanganui. He is showing nice progression and looks well suited in today's race. Anything around the $3 mark looks attractive.
Selections: 7-2-6-9

Race 3
7 Ziggy Khan

This is a race where three or four will all be close to favorite and legitimately so. This mare is coming off a lengthy break so her fitness may not quite be on point. However, I liked her last run-on review behind Pitkin County who is talented. She is trained locally, and Bill Thurlow loves to win at his home track. I have gone with her as she should offer you good value in a race with little exposed form. Watch the market and if it moves, she will be worth a little each way.
Selections: 7-5-6-1

Race 4
1 Rusty Lane

He is backing up from a very good effort in Open Handicap grade on track conditions that were a long way from where he performs best. Back to 75 grade with a 3 kilo claim he looks to be perfectly positioned and on a better track from a prominent position he looks extremely hard to beat.
Selections: 1-6-2-3

Race 5
10 Risque Ruler

Going to shop a little vale here with this lightly raced filly out of the in form Millar stable. She held decent support on debut and performed well after getting a long way back in a leader dominated race with the rail out a long way at New Plymouth. She looks ideally suited to the step up to 1400m and if she can jump better from the inside draw today, I can see her being very competitive at an each way quote.
Selections: 10-4-9-5

Race 6
6 Hasbulla

I have really liked two of the last three runs from this mare behind the smart Bridal Train three starts ago and last start in a on speed dominated race at Whanganui. She has drawn in the perfect spot to take a positive position and again today enjoys the claim of the stable apprentice. She should be hitting her peak performance today and with any luck looks decent each way value at $5.5
Selections: 6-5-7-4

Race 7
6 Moon Money

This is a nice race but in my opinion, this is a decent mare who can make it to a decent grade. This trip is short of where she will be at her best, but I loved her trial recently beating home Bold Belle who is very quick. She is awkwardly drawn but there is plenty of early speed here to allow her to show her best late.
Selections: 6-4-3-7

Race 8
7 Dorothy's Daughter

She went a big race fresh with the winner getting all the breaks up the inside. She trained on well last campaign and although probably better suited to further she doesn't need to improve much to be a winner at great value today. Horonuku is a tough little horse who going well with a great draw and Bourbon Falls should be close to his best third up.
Selections: 7-2-5-12

Best: 1 Sailor Jack (Race 1)and 1 Rusty Lane (Race 4)
Value: 6 Moon Money (Race 7) and 7 Dorothy's Daughter (Race 8)
Blowout: 7 Ziggy Khan (Race 3)
