A gelding by Windsor Park shuttler Charm Spirit (Invincible Spirit) stopped the clock at 10.16 seconds, the fastest time at the Te Rapa breeze-ups on Monday, ahead of the New Zealand Bloodstock's Ready To Run Sale.

Offered by Woburn Farm and catalogued as Lot 135, the gelding was snapped up for NZ$100,000 at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale and he is out of dual winning Exceed And Excel (Danehill) mare Amour Cache.

Amour Cache is herself a daughter of Listed-placed Amen Ruby (Rubiton), making her a half-sister to fellow Listed-placed Family Portrait (Excellent Art).

The gelding's third dam is Golden Prayer (Amen Brother), the grandam of SAJC Breeders' Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) winner Tequila Time (Stratum) and Listed-winning duo Pardoe (Red Dazzler) and Inner Warrior (God's Own).

Further back this is the same family as Listed winner Personal Ensign (Rubiton), who in turn produced Group 2 scorer Fontiton (Turffontein) and Group 3 winner Sartorial Splendor (Brazen Beau).

Riversley Park have been crowned leading vendors at the Ready To Run Sale for the past two years and they were responsible for the second quickest breeze of the morning, when a colt by Highly Recommended (Fastnet Rock) posted an impressive time of 10.30 seconds.

The colt - who is catalogued as Lot 113 - is the second foal out of Wilma Rudolf (Stravinsky) and he was purchased by Phill Cataldo Bloodstock for NZ$15,000 at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale.

Wilma Rudolf herself is out of Sporty Spice (Carnegie), who is a daughter of Listed winner Yankee Gold (Western Symphony) - the dam of multiple Listed winner Joan's Best (Gold Brose). Yankee Gold is also the grandam of Markus Maximus (Pentire) who landed the 2009 WATC Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) and Group 3 winner Najara (Kilimanjaro).

Bloodstock sales manager Danny Rolston was quick to acknowledge the high standard of quality and presentation that buyers have become accustomed to at the Karaka Ready to Run Sale.

"The results of the sale speak for themselves and after seeing today's group of horses parade and breeze up, it's clear that is set to continue long into the future.

"In addition to our experienced Bloodstock team, there were a large number of astute buyers and agents on the ground today assessing the horses go through their paces."

The full Breeze Ups clips and parade footage will be made available for viewing on http://www.nzb.co.nz by October 16, as well as streamed on Trackside in New Zealand, plus Sky Racing and http://Racing.com in Australia.

Day Two of the Breeze Ups for the number one sale of its kind will continue at Te Rapa on Tuesday.
