The first crop of Arrowfield Stud's The Autumn Sun (Redoute's Choice) proved popular during the opening session of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale on Tuesday with all nine yearlings offered by the son of Redoute's Choice (Danehill) selling for $2,785,000 at an average of $309,444.

The most expensive of his progeny to sell was the Mill Park Stud-consigned colt out of I Am Zelady (I Am Invincible) who was bought by Tasman Bloodstock for $550,000.

Sold as Lot 127, the colt is the second foal out of the winning I Am Invinicble (Invincible Spirit) mare I Am Zelady who is herself a half-sister to the stakes winning pair Excites Zelady (Excites) and Zelady's Night Out (Myboycharlie).

Earlier in the session, a daughter of The Autumn Sun made $525,000, selling to Bahen Bloodstock and Matt Laurie Racing. Offered as Lot 76 by KBL Thoroughbreds, the filly is the fourth foal out of Group Three winning Commands (Danehill) mare Girl In Flight.

The Autumn Sun covered 167 mares during his first season at stud in 2019 for a fee of $77,000 (inc GST) producing 102 live foals.
